• Texas State University username:  Your txstate username and @txstate.edu email address are needed.  If you are new to Texas State these are created at New Student Orientation.
  • All incoming and currently enrolled students MUST use their TXState NetID username and email address!  This is due to the migration of Texas State University to the new Student Information System.
  • Your Jobs4Cats account will be verified, and your profile automatically updated to meet these requirements.
• Password: at this time you need to create a separate password for Jobs4Cats.
• Contact phone numbers:  Sometimes Career Services will need to call you at the last moment concerning a job, an interview or a counseling appointment and it is necessary to have a Best Contact phone #.
• Cellphone and cellphone carrier:  We'll only text you with your permission!
• Alternate email addresses:  The alternate email address will only be used if your @txstate.edu email address becomes unreachable.
• Banner ID: begins with an 'A', this is your nine-character Texas State code, new this fall for incoming students and re-enrolling students.

1. Classification:  Your number of 'earned' credit hours determines your classification.
2. Student Applicant Type:  most students should choose 'Part-Time' when first signing up with Jobs4Cats.  As you get closer to graduation you can add internship and eventually using Full-Time, either Entry Level or Experienced!
3. Projected Month/Year of Graduation:  take your best estimate now, and keep adjusting each semester.
4. Type of Degree:  Texas State offers a lot of options; choose the best one for you now.
5. Major:  If necessary check with your Academic Advisor.

1. Work Authorization: must choose the appropriate response.
2. Country of Origin:  sometimes needs to be used for federal jobs.
3. Current Job Search Status:  are you looking for part-time or full-time employment right now, career counseling, etc.?
4. Current Career Concerns:  what do you want from Career Services today?

Two equally important things have to occur before you can work part-time:

1.  You as a student employee must have your classes schedule finalized.  Employers need to know if your available hours to work match their needs.  If your classes for the semester are finalized click here for a template to complete, save to your flash drive or email to yourself.

Juniors, Seniors and Graduate students may need to have their unofficial transcripts. 

• Log into Catsweb > Student Services > Academic Records
• Click on View Unofficial Transcripts
• When the webpage opens, 'Select All' and Copy the webpage information
• Paste everything into a word document, and reset font size to around 9 point.  This will make the text line up better.  You also might have to tweak the layout just a bit.
• Save to your computer, flash drive or email to yourself as an attachment.
