Job Search Strategies - Resumes, Cover Letters and Document Review

Professional reviews of resumes, cover letters or any documents required for employment are offered through our counselors, through a number of convenient options:

• First, we encourage all students to bring a draft of their resume and/or cover letter/documents and meet with a counselor.  Call Career Services at 512.245.2645 to schedule a 30 minute appointment, to discuss details of your documents face-to-face with a counselor.

         Download the most appropriate 'Suggested Resume' to create your resume draft.

• Walk-in hours for reviews [no appointment necessary] varies during the year.  Please check our home page www.careerservices.txstate.edu for current days and times.
• Career Services also offers our 24-hour Resume Review program, allowing students and alumni to drop their resume and/or cover letter/employment documents at our office [LBJ Student Center 5-7.1] and picked up the next day.
• Finally, out-of-town students and alumni can email their documents to our counseling staff for review.  Suggested changes will be emailed back in approximately 48 business hours.
